Dude, SwitchPod is way more solid. Aluminum vs plastic mostly. GorillaPod can be good for wrapping around stuff but for just holding or tabletop, SwitchPod wins easily.

Nah, the standard one is just the tripod base. You gotta get the ball head separately if you want that articulation, or grab one of their bundles that includes it.

Yeah, it's usually separate. The bundles are the way to go if you need the ball head and maybe a phone mount too, usually cheaper than buying everything piece by piece.
